Dear God, don’t let me fall apart
You’ve held me close to you
I have turned away and searched
For answers I can’t understand
Sometimes, when I feel miles away
And my eyes can’t see your face
I wonder if I’ve grown to lose the
Recklessness I walked in light of you
They say that I can move the mountains
And send them falling to the sea
They say that I can walk on water
If I would follow and believe with faith like a child.
I found this particular photo quite significant because it represents what I have been yearning for—a child-like faith. As I saw this picture, I thought of the song “Faith Like A Child” by Jars of Clay. I truly cherished the few moments that I had to interact with the children of Los Higos because I learned a lot from being with them. My prayer throughout the mission trip was based on Psalms 25:4-5, which says the following: “Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God, my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day.” I see that God is always teaching me and opening up my heart in all that I do in my everyday life. I pray to God that I continue to seek that child-like faith as I return to Cornell.
